E-Discovery & Litigation Support Services

key to E-Discovery compliance relies in the firm’s ability to collect, process, review and produce required documents accurately and within allowed timeline. When data is stored in different formats, retrieving the data on-demand could be a challenge. In order to achieve the state of compliance, all relevant documents must be identified and organized in such way that allows a researcher to locate, review and categorize the documentation contents in a standard manner. The type of discoverable documents may include structured and unstructured data, hard copy documents, or other recorded communications.

Structured data - information that has been organized and stored electronically with a clear separation of the information context from its content, which makes it usable for centralized standard processing by a computer program.  Examples of structured data: emails, scanned and parsed documents, electronic messages, data entries, etc. stored in databases, spreadsheets, or other data-relational system. These data are generally in an E-Discovery compliant format, provided that the documentation repositories are identified and made available for indexing and centralized access.

Unstructured data – information that might be organized and stored electronically with a separation of the information context from its content, but might not be usable for centralized standard processing by a computer program. Examples of unstructured data: scanned documents, data stored in non-extractable proprietary formats, etc. stored in despaired locations in various formats. These data have to be manipulated to get converted to an E-Discovery compliant format, and organized to be available for indexing and centralized access.

Hard copy documents – information printed out on paper. Examples of hard copy documents: signed contracts, manuals, letters, written notes, printed images, etc. These data have to be scanned, parsed and/or tagged, and converted to an E-Discovery compliant format, as well as organized to be available for indexing and centralized access.

Other recorded communications – information that has been recorded on various sound capturing devices. Examples of recorded communications: voice communications, digital sound communications, broadcasts, etc. These data have to be manipulated to get converted to an E-Discovery compliant format, and organized to be available for indexing and centralized access.
